The Senior Analyst, Cancer Screening Analytics specializes in data management, performance indicator development and statistical analysis for Ontario’s organized cancer screening programs.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Develop complex analytical methodologies and ensure the methodologies are consistently applied throughout all the cancer screening business.
- Lead indicator development and testing for cancer screening programs.
- Lead cancer screening analytical initiatives by developing analytics plan, conducting quantitative data analysis, summarizing, and interpreting results, and communicating and interacting with stakeholders.
- Translate analytics products to stakeholders by developing end products and presenting findings using advanced written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.
- Lead and collaborate with other team members in developing new tools/methods, processes, training materials, documented programs, and related deliverables.
- Contribute to research and analytics projects conducted within Ontario Health and by external agencies.
- Develop and implement data quality assurance procedures, and lead Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing of data systems associated with cancer screening business.
- Work with the Analytics Team Lead and Manager to deliver high quality analytics products, monitor and adjust work plans to meet work priorities and objectives.
- Effectively engage, consult, and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g., Clinical and Scientific Leads, scientists, members of leadership and staff, external partners).
- Serve as subject matter experts on cancer screening data and methodological aspects of cancer screening projects, provide advice and recommendations to the project teams within Ontario Health and external agencies.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics, health sciences, health informatics or recognized equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of data analysis experience.
- Advanced SAS programing and experience with SAS macro and SQL is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, statistical methodologies, quality management philosophy, and experimental design.
- Excellent knowledge of database management principles.
- Strong ability to manipulate data with SAS, Microsoft Office applications and other analytics software.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, written, verbal, and graphical communication skills.
- Ability to deliver informative and well-organized presentations to a wide variety of audiences.
- Highly productive and motivated; able to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize competing assignments to meet timelines and deliver high quality analytics products.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a cross functional team including staff, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective functional leadership skills with great sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Familiarity with cancer screening or cancer in Canada is an asset.
- Familiarity with CIHI DAD and NACRS, OHIP and other healthcare datasets an asset.
- Knowledge of other programing languages such as R and Python is an asset.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is an asset.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS) software such as ESRI ArcGIS is an asset.
