We are currently looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist for our reputable, government body client located in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional that is looking for a challenging, hands-on position. Please apply if you are interested!
Job Duties:
- Draft, review, and negotiate procurement contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and best practices.
- Manage contract lifecycle activities, including amendments, renewals, and terminations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolving contract-related issues and facilitating effective communication to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, addressing any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct risk assessments on potential and existing contracts to identify and mitigate any financial, operational, or legal risks.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of OPS procurement principles, policies, processes and resources,
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Ontario public sector and broader public sector procurement experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the operations of a vendor management database/system to maintain quality information.
- Strong problem solving and relationship-building skills.
