Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join augment their team as a Junior/Assistant Archivist. The successful candidate will provide assistance with organizing and managing collections of historical documents, records, and artifacts and archival records.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- with the arrangement and description of archival collections, including creating finding aids and metadata.
- maintain the integrity and security of archival materials through proper handling, storage, and environmental monitoring.
- in providing reference and research services to internal staff and external researchers, including retrieving materials and assisting with inquiries.
- digitization initiatives by scanning, digitizing, and processing archival materials for online access.
Qualifications
- degree in library science, Archival Studies, History, or a related field.
- experience working or volunteering in an archival setting.
- organizational skills and attention to detail.
- written and verbal communication skills.
- to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
