Our client in the broader public sector is seeking an analytical Procurement Officer for a long-term assignment.
This is a hands-on coordination role that will manage the full lifecycle of IT procurement activities and ensure compliance with public sector procurement policies and procedures. In this role, you will lead the development of procurement documents, support the evaluation and selection of vendors, and provide expert advice on sourcing strategies to achieve value for money.
You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements, prepare reports and documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvement within the procurement function.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Background in procurement and contract management.
- In-depth knowledge of government procurement policies, processes, and legislation.
- Familiarity with the RFX process, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of FIPPA requirements and handling sensitive information.
- Analytical skills to assess procurement proposals and evaluate market conditions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly in resolving disputes and managing contract performance.
- Ability to work independently, organize high volumes of work, and track procurement-related deliverables.
