Our client in the public sector is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist for this interim short-term assignment.
This role provides expert advice, guidance, and support on occupational health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and legislative compliance. Working closely with management, HR partners, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees, the successful candidate will help promote safe and healthy workplaces through proactive program delivery, risk assessment, training, and consultation services.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in providing occupational health & safety advisory services within a complex organization.
Strong knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety legislation, workplace investigations, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation practices
Experience working within unionized environments is a strong asset.
Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and procedures and provide practical guidance to workplace stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex workplace issues
