Our client in the public sector is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Wellness Advisor for a temporary assignment. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can take ownership of health and safety programs and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.
This leadership role drives the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs. You’ll create tailored OH&S policies, procedures, and training for front-line workers and leaders, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure programs are practical, effective, and compliant with legislation.
You will also monitor program effectiveness, provide guidance and support on safety practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in health and safety management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Occupational Health & Safety programs, policies, and training initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert guidance and leadership on health and safety matters across an organization
- Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proven accountability for managing and overseeing organizational health and safety obligations
- Experience working with and supporting Joint Health & Safety Committees (JH&SC)
- Demonstrated experience managing health and safety programs in a unionized environment
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard and risk assessments, and incident investigations
